Year 4 Excursion to the Blue Mountains
Contributed by Ms Johnson, Year 4 · 3 days ago
Last Friday, forty-two eager Year 4 students boarded the bus at 8:15 am for the much-anticipated excursion to the Blue Mountains. The weather was kind to us — a cool, clear autumn morning perfect for bushwalking.
Our first stop was Echo Point, where students listened to a Dreamtime story shared by Aboriginal Education Officer Uncle David. They connected it to their Term 1 unit on Australian landscapes, asking thoughtful questions about the geological and cultural significance of the Three Sisters.
The highlight? A lyrebird spotted along the trail during our guided nature walk with National Parks rangers. Students finished the day at Govetts Leap — tired, buzzing, and already asking when the next excursion is.
